Allegheny Unplugs Indiana Facility

Summary


In a move to further reduce debt, Allegheny Energy Inc. yesterday said it would sell an Indiana power plant for $100 million to a Midwestern power company.

The agreement puts Allegheny close to reaching its goal of lowering debt by $1.5 billion by the end of this year, and follows a string of other land and plant sales during the past year.
