The University of Maryland Eastern Shore was not responsible when a student it had suspended for fighting attacked his new roommate, the Court of Appeals has held.

The state's highest court affirmed the Court of Special Appeals, which last year held that the university owed no duty to incoming freshman Anthony F. Rhaney to anticipate the assault and battery by Ennis J. Clark.
