Standing 13 stories above the Dundalk Marine Terminal at the Port of Baltimore on the bridge of the M/V Faust, the Chesapeake Bay looms large to one side. But in the other direction, a sea of cars, buses and tractor trailers is almost as imposing.

It's hard to imagine, but about half those vehicles spread out as far as the eye can see will soon be loaded inside the Swedish- flagged cargo vessel before it heads down the bay and into the Atlantic.
