Is it possible that Maryland will re-elect a former Republican governor who refuses to say how he would balance the budget after cutting taxes by as much as $700 million when the state's budget is already $1.5 billion in the red?
Some may not accept it, but the budget has been cut plenty in recent years as tax receipts were pushed down by the recession. So, unless voters are willing to see the public education and public safety budgets decimated, going without the $700 million in sales tax revenue could be quite painful.See the full content of this document
