A group led by First Mariner Bancorp Chief Executive Edwin F. Hale Sr. plans to launch a statewide business advocacy group next month to give a voice to small- and medium-size companies.

Despite the existence of three Baltimore-based organizations that promote business interests, the group is being formed to do things the other groups don't do, a spokesman for Hale said.
