After four years as president and chief executive officer of Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., Frank O. Heintz is retiring and will be replaced by Kenneth W. DeFontes Jr.
Heintz, whose career began as a teacher in the Baltimore City Public Schools and included a stint as a Peace Corps volunteer in India, will step down from his position on Oct. 1. He said he plans to work outside of business on spiritual development, adding, On the first day [of retirement] after a very long working career, I'll totally be just chilling out.
