A murder convict who is already serving a life sentence will get nothing more than that if he is also found guilty of killing a potential witness, a federal judge in Baltimore has ruled.

U.S. District Chief Judge Benson E. Legg determined that prosecutors waited too long to notify Donald Lee Ferebe that they intended to seek the death penalty.
