An attorney panel's recommendation that charges of professional misconduct against Hekyong Christina Pak be dismissed could not prevent bar counsel from pursuing the charges - nor could it save Pak from disbarment.
That was the Court of Appeals' decision Thursday in an Attorney Grievance Commission case alleging multiple violations of the standards governing lawyers' behavior. The violations - misrepresentations before a tribunal, false statements, fraudulent conduct and conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice - occurred while Pak was trying to protect her parents' assets after they defaulted on a loan.See the full content of this document
