Summary


Miles & Stockbridge P.C. announced that Cameron K. Weiffenbach has joined the law firm's intellectual property and biotechnology practices. He will focus his work on patent matters, especially those related to the fields of chemistry, biotechnology and life sciences. Weiffenbach is an intellectual property lawyer with more than 30 years of experience with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Before joining Miles & Stockbridge, Weiffenbach was counsel in McDermott Will & Emery LLP's Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm's intellectual property, media and technology department. He held various positions over his 32-year career with the USPTO. Most recently, he served as an administrative patent judge at the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences in the fields of chemical and biotechnology patent applications. He also served as a patent examiner for chemical patent applications; a protest examiner and special program examiner in the Office of the Assistant Commissioner for patents; and as Director of the Office of Enrollment and Discipline.

Sheryl Robinson Wood, a partner and co-chair of Saul Ewing LLP's white collar and government enforcement practice group, was recently named Parliamentarian of the National Bar Association (NBA). She will serve a one-year term. A former federal prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust and Civil Rights Divisions and assistant district attorney for the New York County District Attorney's Office Investigations Division, Robinson Wood concentrates her practice in corporate compliance, employment disputes, fraud investigations, regulatory enforcement and white- collar criminal matters. The NBA is the oldest and largest national association of predominately African-American lawyers, judges, legal scholars and law students in the world. Founded in 1925, the NBA has been at the forefront of advocating civil and human rights around the world.
