Summary
Police officer charged
A criminal information has been filed in Harford County Circuit Court charging Gary Lee Haslam, 46, of White Marsh, a lieutenant with the Maryland Park Police, with unauthorized removal of property and misconduct in office, the Maryland attorney general's office announced last week. Prosecutors said Haslam removed a state-owned bulldozer from the Susquehanna State Park for his personal use, and also directed court-ordered community service workers assigned to Rocks State Park to do work on property he owns in Jarrettsville. An initial court appearance is set for July 18. If convicted, prosecutors said Haslam could be sentenced to up to four years imprisonment and a $100 fine, plus restitution, for unauthorized removal of property, and given a sentence that is not cruel and unusual for misconduct in office, a common law offense.See the full content of this document
