Massage Therapist Wants More Than an Ok to Work with Horses in Md.

Amid litigation, the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners has given permission to a certified massage therapist to practice her craft on horses. But the therapist said she will pursue her lawsuit against the agency because the threat of losing her license remains under a state law that prohibits anyone but a veterinarian from performing equine massage.

"We've still got the cease-and-desist order," H. Mercedes Clemens, the Rockville massage therapist, said Tuesday.
