1st Mariner Bank Thursday said it had hired a new president, Daniel E. McKew, the former president of SunTrust Equipment Finance and Leasing Corp. in Towson.

McKew replaces George H. Mantakos, who will remain on the board of directors of the bank's parent company, First Mariner Bancorp. Mantakos will continue to work in various lending capacities, the bank said.
