Summary


A man found guilty of murder last year by a Prince George's County jury has managed to get that conviction overturned by the Court of Special Appeals.

The appellate court held that a prosecutor's decision to nol pros the first- and second-degree murder and handgun charges against Wayne David Wheeler - only to re-indict him months later when the DNA testing she wanted was in - had the necessary effect of violating the defendant's statutory right to a speedy trial.
