Water grants
The Maryland Board of Public Works approved more than $2 million in grants for capital construction projects to improve water quality and water supply. The board approved a $1.7 million grant to construct biological nutrient removal and enhanced nutrient removal facilities to lower levels of nitrogen and phosphorus at the existing George's Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Allegany County. Also approved was a $555,928 grant to construct biological nutrient removal and enhanced nutrient removal facilities at the Indian Head Wastewater Treatment Plant in Charles County to achieve manageable levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in its effluent water quality.See the full content of this document
