Summary


The cruise industry has exploded. Cruise ships now offer trips to exotic and romantic destinations, assuring their passengers dream accommodations and service that in a time not long past was a privilege open only to the very wealthy.

Today ships may carry as many as 5,000 passengers and in 2002 approximately 10 million people sailed. It is estimated that this number will double by 2010. One of the main attractions aboard ship is the vast amount of delicious food offered passengers, as frequently as four or five times a day, sometimes even in specialty restaurants.
