The new, $56 million, state-of-the-art building housing the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering is intended to foster cross-disciplinary partnerships within the school.

The Jeong H. Kim Engineering Building is scheduled for a grand opening ceremony this morning at the University of Maryland, College Park, with more than 500 guests expected including Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., Maryland House Speaker Michael E. Busch and the building's namesake, Jeong H. Kim, a university professor and president of Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs.
