The University of Maryland's new Center for Health Information and Decision Systems will research how to improve patient health by improving information technology in the health care industry.
The research and development center will analyze what is - and is not - working in the medical community in regards to information technology. It will also hold programs to inform physicians and others in the health industry about what technologies are available, said Ritu Agarwal, the center's director and the dean's chair of information systems at the university's Robert H.
